A gift that just keeps on giving!

Katrina Whittle
Senior Academic Lecturer on Mental Health and Addictions

As a mental health nurse, I have many years of hands-on experience in diverse areas of mental health, along with experience of academic psychology. In 2018 I had reached a point in my life where I felt I wanted to upskill and learn something new and engaging. So, I researched NLP trainers with have a focus on holistic NLP training rather than just a corporate focus. Steph in Raglan came on my radar, so with a healthy dose of scepticism, I took the plunge and booked a course along with my accommodation.

This has been a life-changing experience

It's been life-changing both in my personal life and in my cagift-that-keep-on-gicingreer. I have developed my confidence and communications skills to the next level, and apply these in all walks of life to gain a deeper understanding of myself and those around me. My husband and 4 children have all benefited from the new way I look and perceive life, and are immensely proud of the direction my life is now unfolding.

I started this course and journey of discovery alone

It has had a profound effect on me, but more importantly I have developed deep and meaningful friendships that will last the rest of my life.

Steph creates a safe place for learning and is an amazing facilitator, balanced, effective, and most importunately she holds no judgement. Her leadership style is relaxed with lots of humour as she empowers you to trust yourself while you get used to being comfortably uncomfortable.

For me, what I learnt on the courses has continued to expand

It is like a gift that just keeps on giving! I use the skills I learnt in Raglan on a daily basis, and now, looking back I am surprised at how much my thought processes have changed and evolved. I also open my manual (that Steph has worked tirelessly to put together), most weeks to gain a deeper understanding, or a different perspective of how to approach something or help someone.

As a direct result of doing this course I now have my dream job

I'm influencing and shaping the next generation of nurses through personal development and a deeper more holistic approach to mental health! On top of that I am about to fulfil a huge goal that I set 18months ago which I thought would take 5 to 10 years to accomplish. All this is from enrolling in an NLP course in Raglan.
