My Journey to SHIFT Coaching

Most people don’t know how to resolve their issues on their own—I certainly didn’t until I learned how to think and behave differently. Peeling away layers of past programming freed me to explore my true self.

Still Not Perfect, But Always Learning

Like most, I’m a work in progress. I’ve spent more on training courses than on holidays and hot dinners. My passion for learning new skills drives me to help others live life on their terms.

The World Needs You—Now!

It’s not your fault you have challenges. Blame the programming you’ve had so far. Not all programming is negative though. Some is quite useful.

The Good, The Bad, and The Programmable

Some programming is incredibly useful. For example, you can tie your shoelaces while talking or singing.

But, as a kid, you needed every bit of concentration to tie a shoelace—perhaps including the need to stick your tongue out and hold your mouth in precisely the right way!

Repetition turned it into a seamless shoelace-tying programme. Now imagine having thousands of these simple programmes running daily. These automated routines save you time and mental energy, allowing you to focus on more complex tasks.

Other Programmes – Not So Helpful

Like your shoelace tying programme, you have some unhelpful programmes that also run on autopilot, tripping you up and holding you back without you even realising it.

They can complicate your life and become so ingrained that you only realise they’re running when it’s too late. Frustrating, right? Since they’re unconscious, they’re tough to figure out and fix on your own.

Finding Those Pesky Programmes

So how do you find these unhelpful programmes? I hear you ask! (You did ask, didn’t you? Yes, of course, you did!)

Look at Your Life

If you have money issues, you likely have negative programming about money. Relationship problems? Probably less-than-useful programmes or beliefs you absorbed from parents or caregivers. These programmes can generalise to other contexts.

Back to The Shoelace Example

Your mind generalises the shoelace-tying programme to other areas. Now, you can tie a ribbon around a gift, truss tomato plants, or even do fancy nautical knots. Unfortunately, those other less-than-useful programmes might sabotage your conscious intentions affecting your life adversely.

These negative programmes can seep into your work, relationships, and personal growth, creating barriers you didn’t even know were there. They can make you feel stuck, frustrated, and unable to move forward, no matter how hard you try.

SHIFT Coaching in Action

We’ll schedule three sessions to tackle your issues, conducted either face-to-face in my office/cabin in Raglan, NZ, or via Zoom.

Sessions last for 1 to 1.5 hours.

If you prefer, we can schedule two or even all three Shift Coaching sessions together and have a longer breakthrough session of 3 – 4.5 hours.

If, after three sessions you want to continue and explore other issues, you can book another three sessions. Sometimes, an issue can be resolved in a single session. When this happens you’ll get a refund for any unused sessions.
